Dollywood & Tellico Plains – September 2008

I’m about a month and a half late in posting this.  Last month over the Labor Day weekend (which is also my birthday weekend), Dessa, Reagan, Elly, and I went home to East Tennessee for 4 days to visit my family.  We had two major excursions on this weekend.  First, we travelled to Tellico Plains (where I graduated from).  Since Elly did so well staying with my parents during this trip, we went forward with our plan on Sunday to take Reagan to Dollywood for his birthday (also in September).

We were stuck in traffic on the way there for about an hour and a half due to a wreck.

Small cafe in Tellico Plains.  Great pizza.

What goes best with pizza?  Ice cream.

CIMG0057

Especially mint chocolate chip ice cream.

The entire area of Tellico Plains looks like this.  Once you pass the town, it’s nothing but river rapids and mountains until you get to North Carolina.

This tiny building was crammed in between two huge buildings.  I thought it looked funny.

He thought he was so grown up driving his mom around.

His first “thrill ride”.

The Veggietales Roller Coaster.

Not sure what they were snarling at me for…  Maybe I had tried to get their food?

This whole series of contraptions were for making ice cream.  You could buy it next door.  I did.

CIMG0139

Reagan was hungry.

CIMG0145

He’s happy.  The little girl behind him wasn’t.

Waiting for our turn.

My little princess at our breakfast stop in Englewood. We eat there about every time I go home.

This is in the bathroom of our breakfast stop.  Why?  Good question.
