Chclunk, Chclunk, Chclunk

Our car may be dying. I sure hope it isn’t, but the sounds don’t make me too optimistic. I got in it yesterday, minding my own business as I gingerly turned the key to the old boat, but the old boat decided that she didn’t like me. Instead of the nice gentle purr that normally accompanies startup (well, purr probably isn’t the best term to use, considering that it makes quite a few noises. but, you can live with most in a 1992 car with 200,000+ miles), I was greeted with a car that was shaking. The whole car was just vibrating.

So I though, “Well, this isn’t good.” I put in reverse and back out, which only cause the shaking to get worse. Then I put it in drive and found out the favorite song of my car; “A Whole Lot of Shaking Going On!” (I’m not an Elvis fan, so that may not be the actual title of the song. If not, please excuse my mistake as I am emotionally distraught over the extreme shakiness of my land yacht.)

So now, the car will shake almost violently whenever you are mashing the gas at a low RPM. It doesn’t do to bad when you are coasting or if you mash the gas and get the RPM’s up. It does also shake at low speeds and idling, but not as bad. I’m taking it today to a friend’s shop to have it checked out. Hopefully, it turns out to be a loose screw :), because if it doesn’t, then Dessa and I face an unsettling dilemma. Regardless, though, I’m very glad that I know that Jesus is taking care of us. Not every aspect of our lives are things that we can consider “good” or “plesent”. Some things are just bad. However, those are the times that are used are our proving ground to get from point A to point B. They are also times to allow Jesus to prove Himself one more time. Hebrews 10:31 says that it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of an angry God, but falling into the arms of a loving Father is what makes being a Christian the most wonderful state of being on this planet.
